JOB DESCRIPTION

We are seeking an experienced Quality Manager to lead and direct all quality-related activities within a manufacturing environment. This role is responsible for ensuring internal and external customer quality expectations are met through effective quality systems, compliance management, supplier quality oversight, continuous improvement initiatives, and team leadership. The Quality Manager will serve as the site quality leader, driving compliance with IATF 16949, ISO 9001:2015, customer-specific requirements, and company standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, develop, and manage Quality Engineers and Quality Technicians
  • Manage plant quality systems, reporting, and performance metrics
  • Partner with Engineering on APQP and new product launch activities
  • Ensure special characteristics are identified and monitored using SPC and other statistical methods
  • Serve as Management Representative for BOS and IATF 16949 compliance
  • Develop and manage internal audit schedules and audit activities
  • Maintain compliance with IATF 16949, ISO 9001:2015, and customer-specific requirements
  • Manage supplier quality performance for purchased and customer-supplied components
  • Drive root cause analysis, corrective actions, and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Review customer scorecards, complaints, and quality concerns
  • Establish incoming inspection requirements and frequencies
  • Ensure final product audits are completed according to established requirements
  • Oversee calibration and maintenance of variable and attribute gauges
  • Manage sample part control processes and designated personnel assignments
  • Create and maintain development plans for Quality Department employees
  • Support operational excellence and continuous improvement activities
  • Promote workplace safety, environmental compliance, and sustainability objectives
  • Participate in safety audits, Kaizen events, safety observations, and improvement activities

Qualifications

Required:

  • Experience leading and developing Quality Engineers and Technicians
  • Strong knowledge of IATF 16949 and ISO 9001:2015
  • Experience managing quality systems, audits, and compliance programs
  • Experience with APQP, PPAP, FMEA, MSA, SPC, and Control Plans
  • Experience interpreting and applying customer-specific requirements (CSRs)
  • Supplier quality management experience
  • Root cause analysis and corrective action experience
  • Strong leadership, communication, and project management skills
  • Proficiency with quality metrics and continuous improvement tools
  • Ability to work cross-functionally with Engineering, Operations, and Suppliers

Preferred:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing, or related field
  • Automotive manufacturing experience
  • IATF 16949 and/or ISO 9001 Lead Auditor certification
  • Lean Manufacturing experience
  • Continuous Improvement experience
