Job Description:
L3Harris Technologies, Inc. is seeking an experienced technical writer.
Essential Functions:
-
Proficiency in researching and analyzing detailed technical data and processes to extract technical information
-
Excellent written and verbal communication
-
Strong editing, proofreading, and formatting skills
-
Confidence and experience with team coordination, including working with engineers, customer representatives, subject matter experts, vendors, and technical personnel
-
Team lead experience and ability to interact with and mentor employees at all experience levels
-
Agility with changing priorities and workloads, strong time management skills, and ability to manage project budgets
-
Experience authoring Operation and Maintenance (O&M) Manuals, Technical Orders (TOs), Technical Manuals (TMs), User’s Manuals, and other related technical documents in various formats
-
Experience with military and aerospace technical documentation requirements, such as standards and specifications (e.g., MIL-STD-38784, MIL-STD-40051, MIL-DTL-38807, S1000D)

Knowledge of XML and SGML technologies, including creating and integrating style sheets and programming scripts

S1000D and IETM experience
-
Understanding of Common Source Database (CSDB) development standards, best practices, and protocols
-
Experience with Earned Value (EV) and project management
Qualifications:
· Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 6 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 4 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 10 years of prior related experience.

Ability to obtain security clearance and maintain eligibility requirements to access U.S. classified information
