Primary Purpose
Functions as the site Mechanical Component Specialist with specific emphasis on Heat Exchangers, Relief Valves, Check Valves, Rotating Equipment. Responsible for evaluating complex plant mechanical equipment degradation issues, coordinating component reliability improvements employing preventive, predictive and proactive techniques and component maintenance program optimization for plant mechanical components. Additional responsibilities include component performance monitoring and equipment reliability, as well as equipment component troubleshooting. The Mechanical Component Specialist role in PM optimization and equipment performance improvement is critical to controlling site maintenance resources and preserving key Site equipment assets.
Primary Duties
Perform Field walk down inspections and analyses for key Mechanical and rotating components. Provide consulting to Maintenance department in troubleshooting & repair. Provide expert analysis and support of plant mechanical equipment condition assessment. Assume component ownership for plant rotating, mechanical equipment and perform periodic equipment condition assessment and update the component health status in the station CHIP report. Manage electrical equipment testing programs for motors, electrical components, breakers, etc. Participate in performing CAP and PEP program analyses, resolution development and implementation for mechanical component issues. Provide budget and business plan input (short term and long term) for mechanical equipment. Participate in working group activities with Fleet peers. Sharing experiences and lessons learned and incorporating Fleet best practices.
Minimum Qualifications
- Minimum of 8 years mechanical experience – operations in a plant environment, piping systems, or rotating/mechanical/pump equipment.
- Minimum of 3 years Gas industry experience.
- Ability to operate independently. Analyze system data and react quickly and safely to changing gas/plant conditions.
- Extensive knowledge of the gas distribution and transmission systems and their operational limits.
- Manage technical aspects of projects related to the mechanical systems as applied to the liquefaction, vaporization and gas distribution system.
- Issuing authority for lock out/tag out program. Approve all blocking procedures.
- Follow operating & maintenance procedures perform purges, piping design, X-rays, travel gas territory, support storms.
- Demonstrated ability to read and interpret federal and state codes and regulations.
- Ability to work rotating shift schedules.
- Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing including effective 3-part communications.
- Strong interpersonal skills with proven success in initiating, promoting, and maintaining strong interpersonal business relationships.
- Ability to effectively organize, lead, and direct the work activities of others.
- Valid Driver's license with ability to operate a Commercial Motor Vehicle and maintain a Driver Qualification File
- Must be able to pass pre-employment drug/alcohol test(s), background check(s) and physicals
