Nexstar Media Inc is looking for Newscast Director to join our KOLR/Ozarks FOX/KOZL Production staff.

The Production Director coordinates the efforts of all technical operators during newscasts and other live and recorded productions.

​Job Description:

  • Directs and TDs live, local newscasts and lifestyle show using Ross Vision, Ross Xpression
  • Directs live and recorded digital content using OBS and VMIX
  • Coordinates the efforts of all technical operators during all in-house productions
  • Supervises and assigns duties to workers engaged in technical control and production of programs
  • Observes camera shots through monitors and runs camera/video and CG.
  • Works with news, digital, lifestyle, and production departments
  • Works with other producers to create and deliver a clean and high energy content
  • Switches video sources and gives directions at the same time during live broadcasts
  • Tests equipment to ensure proper operation
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Requirements & Skills:

  • High school diploma
  • Fluency in English
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written
  • Minimum two years’ experience in news operations and production and/or online streaming software.
  • Proficiency with computers, telephones, and other office equipment
  • Proficiency with broadcast, streaming and production equipment
  • Ability to meet deadlines, prioritize assignments and handle multiple tasks simultaneously

Qualifications:

A bachelor’s degree in communications or a related field is preferred. Must be able to handle fast-paced live broadcasts and remain calm during breaking news. Candidate should be a problem solver and quick thinker to resolve existing issues and to work around problems that arise during live news and productions. Early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays will be a part of the schedule. Please be prepared to furnish current references and shows (if available).
