Help Us Build Exceptional Opportunities
At JATC North and JATC South, students learn by doing and leave with skills employers want. This position helps make that real. You will build the bridges between our classrooms and the workplaces, organizations and industries where students can job shadow, intern and apprentice.
If you know how to open doors, earn an employer's trust and turn a handshake into a student opportunity, we want to hear from you. We hire for what you can do. Show us your skills, whatever path brought you to them.
What You Will Do
- Build partnerships. Connect with local employers, community organizations and philanthropic partners to create job shadow, internship and apprenticeship sites for students.
- Visit and listen. Conduct site visits with new and existing partners, learn what they need, and make sure every placement is safe, meaningful and well matched to student goals.
- Work from the data. Use local and national employment data to identify growing industries and in-demand skills, and point our partnership work in those directions.
- Collaborate with instructors. Partner with internship instructors so that what students learn in class connects to what they do on the job.
- Lead and support learning. Facilitate teacher focus groups and advisory meetings, support professional learning, and take part in Teaching and Learning teams as assigned.
- Keep the work visible. Maintain accurate records of partners and placements, and share results with district leaders, schools and community members.
The Skills You Bring
We look at demonstrated skills first. Tell us how you have used these in classrooms, workplaces, community roles or any setting where you have done the work.
- Relationship building: you earn trust quickly with employers, community leaders, educators and students, and you keep those relationships strong over time.
- Opportunity creation: you have a record of creating placements, programs or partnerships where none existed.
- Data fluency: you are familiar with local and national employment data and can turn it into practical decisions.
- Communication: you listen well, speak and write clearly, and present to varied audiences.
- Organization and follow-through: you manage many partners and timelines at once without dropping details.
- Student-centered coaching: you can support teachers in designing learning that is hands-on, connected to the real world and responsive to each learner.
Required qualifications
- Compliance with Utah State Board of Education license requirements
- Five or more years of applicable experience
- Valid Utah driver's license and reliable personal transportation for district travel
