About the job
Amazon is Skechers’ most globally scaled marketplace relationship, spanning the US, Europe, Japan, India, Mexico, Brazil, Turkey, Australia, and distributor-led markets in the Middle East and Africa. Each region has built its own approach to selection, inventory, advertising, promotions, and terms. This leader owns the global Amazon business, sets one strategy across regions, and serves as Skechers’ single senior voice to Amazon. They preserve the local market and product expertise that makes each region work, while creating leverage through shared strategy, data, technology, and processes. The goal is to grow Amazon profitably worldwide and run it more efficiently, so regional teams focus on higher-value work and stop rebuilding the same processes market by market.
WHAT YOU'LL DO:
- The global Amazon P&L: the combined results and economics of the global business, including growth, margin, and investment returns across regions
- Global strategy: define the strategy and operating principles for the key pillars (selection, forecasting and inventory, deals and promotions, advertising, economics, and operations), and decide what scales across regions and where local flexibility matters
- The regional Amazon teams: the regional Amazon teams (US, EU, Japan, and others) report directly into this role. You are their leader, not just an escalation point, responsible for setting direction, priorities, and ownership across regions and developing the regional leaders.
- Centers of excellence: decide which region leads each discipline (for example, one region as the global expert in advertising) so best practices are built once and scaled everywhere
- The Amazon relationship: serve as the senior-level single voice to Amazon on joint planning, escalations, and global terms, working toward standard global terms and using Skechers’ scale to improve economics
- Partners and shared capabilities: decide which agency and technology partners should scale globally and which work belongs regionally, and set the global approach to content/PXM, catalog, data, and automation
- Organization: shape the long-term global team structure and talent plan
WHAT YOU'LL BRING:
- 10+ years of ecommerce or marketplace experience, with deep Amazon experience at Amazon or on the brand side
- Experience running a business that scales globally and leading multi-region teams, including leaders of leaders
- The judgment to prioritize what should happen centrally versus what should stay local, based on a real understanding of the needs of multiple regions and markets
- Strong cross-functional leadership. You influence with or without authority across different regions, cultures, and operating models (direct, JV, distributor), and bring senior stakeholders and Amazon leadership along.
- A vision-setter who can also roll up their sleeves, remove obstacles, and take a strategy from concept to working process
- Strong ownership and the ability to operate at scale
- A people leader who develops talent and elevates teams doing largely executional work
- A change leader who can make complex topics clear to people who aren’t close to them
- Strong analytical and commercial skills, with comfort in P&L and negotiation
- Experience in process improvement and automation, with AI and automation exposure a strong plus
- Experience directing agencies and technology partners
- Fashion, footwear, or consumer brand experience preferred; international Amazon experience a plus
Pay range for this position is $240,000 - $280,000/year USD.
