About the job
The people here at Apple don’t just create products — they create the kind of wonder that’s revolutionized entire industries. It’s the diversity of those people and their ideas that inspires the innovation that runs through everything we do, from amazing technology to industry-leading environmental efforts. Join Apple and help us leave the world better than we found it.
You will join the Apple Music Commercial team’s growth incubator — a small group that takes 0-to-1 bets on how Apple Music grows — and own the commercial side of the subscriber funnel: how listeners discover what Apple Music is worth, how we invite them in, and how we turn that into a subscription or a new form of revenue. Some of this is sharpening what exists today. More of it is building things that don’t exist yet: new offers, new formats, new business models.
In this role you will develop new monetization constructs and offer formats for listeners who are not yet ready for a full subscription, building the business cases that take ideas from concept to approval and scaled execution. You will own commercial outcomes for non-subscriber listeners end to end, from opportunity sizing and goal-setting to experiment design and readout, partnering closely with Product, Marketing, Editorial, Finance, and Data Science. You will represent the Commercial team with cross-functional leadership and ensure every program launched holds up economically and delivers a better listener experience.
Responsibilities
- Develop new monetization models and offer constructs; building the business cases that move them from idea to executive approval to launch.
- Own commercial outcomes for non-subscriber segments: define the opportunity, size it rigorously, and set the goals the cross-functional team works toward.
- Design and run growth programs end to end, from hypothesis through experiment design to scaled program, with Product, Marketing, Editorial, and Data Science as core partners.
- Bring a sharp competitive lens to every initiative, translating deep knowledge of how listeners experience rival music and subscription services into concrete product and commercial choices.
- Partner with Finance and the rights team on the economics underpinning every program and feature, ensuring what ships is structurally sound.
- Represent the Commercial team with Product, Editorial, and Marketing leadership, building trust and alignment at every level.
Minimum Qualifications
- 8+ years of experience in commercial, growth, or business development roles, with meaningful time in subscription media, digital streaming, or consumer apps.
- Proven ability to take a commercial initiative from blank page through business case, cross-functional alignment, launch, and measurement readout.
- Deep expertise in funnel analysis and experiment design, including the ability to build funnel models from scratch and distinguish a real result from noise.
- Strong background in cross-functional collaboration with product, marketing, and data science teams on in-app or digital growth programs.
- Demonstrated ability to size market opportunities, set quantitative goals, and be held accountable to commercial outcomes rather than activity metrics.
- Track record of communicating complex commercial strategies clearly and concisely to senior audiences in ambiguous, fast-moving environments.
- Bachelors degree
Preferred Qualifications
- Direct experience with app monetization mechanics, subscription funnel optimization, or channel conversion in a consumer digital product.
- Familiarity with music industry economics, including how streaming rights and licensing structures interact with consumer offer design.
- Skilled in thinking in business model terms, not just campaign terms, with experience designing novel offer formats or revenue constructs.
- Hands-on experience working within or alongside editorial teams, bringing a listener-first perspective to commercial program design.
- MBA or equivalent advanced degree, valued as a complement to hands-on commercial operating experience rather than a substitute for it.
