Methodist Hospital is looking to hire a Barista – to join our – team!  Come join us as a Partner for Good and help us make an impact on the care and experience that our patients and their families receive every day.

Position Summary: Our The Barista is responsible for the daily customer-service and retail operations of the coffee shop located within Methodist Hospital. This position provides professional, friendly, and efficient service to hospital employees, medical staff, patients, visitors, volunteers, and other customers. The Barista provides specialty coffee and beverage service, operates the point-of-sale system, processes customer transactions, maintains retail product displays, replenishes supplies, supports inventory control, and maintains a clean, organized, and welcoming customer environment.

The Barista represents Methodist Hospital through every customer interaction and is expected to consistently demonstrate professionalism, courtesy, compassion, respect, and service excellence.

Work Schedule: FTE 1.0, 40 hours per week, Monday - Friday, 5:30am - 2:00pm.

Minimum Qualifications: Minimum of one (1) year of previous barista experience and the ability to independently perform the specialized functions associated with a high-volume retail coffee-shop operation within a hospital environment.

Preferred Qualifications: Two or more years of barista experience. Specialty coffee or café experience, operating commercial espresso and coffee equipment experience, retail point-of-sale systems and previous cash handling experience. Previous experience in a healthcare, hospitality, hotel, restaurant, café, or other high-volume customer service environment.
