About the job

We’re People People. Are you?

We’re Sonesta International Hotels—the 8th largest hotel company in the U.S. (and growing fast 🚀).

With a dynamic mix of full-service and focused hotels across major cities, our diverse portfolio of owned, managed, and franchised properties means we’re everywhere our guests need us to be.

But here’s the thing—we’re not just in the business of hotels, we’re in the business of people. We bring service with passion, loyalty with purpose, and create experiences that genuinely connect—delivering quality, value, and memorable stays across 1,000+ properties in eight countries (and counting).

What this role is all about

Exceptional guest experiences start with creating a safe, welcoming, and secure environment for every guest and team member. As the Security Supervisor, you’ll support daily hotel safety and security operations while helping lead security team members and maintain operational readiness across the property.

This role is perfect for someone who thrives in a fast-paced hospitality environment and enjoys balancing leadership, guest interaction, operational coordination, and emergency response support.

If you’re dependable, calm under pressure, and passionate about hospitality and safety — we’d love to meet you.

What you’ll be doing

  • Support daily hotel security operations including property patrols, access control, surveillance monitoring, emergency response, and operational safety procedures.
  • Supervise, support, and guide Security Officers and team members to maintain professional, service-focused, and safety-driven operations throughout the property.
  • Monitor guest activity, hotel operations, employee safety, entrances, public spaces, and operational areas to maintain a safe and welcoming environment.
  • Respond promptly and professionally to guest concerns, incidents, alarms, emergencies, disturbances, and operational security situations.
  • Assist with investigations related to incidents, accidents, guest concerns, theft, policy violations, and operational disruptions while maintaining accurate documentation.
  • Coordinate closely with Front Office, Engineering, Housekeeping, Food & Beverage, and hotel leadership teams to support seamless hotel operations and guest satisfaction.
  • Support emergency response procedures, evacuation plans, fire safety initiatives, and operational preparedness activities as needed.
  • Monitor surveillance systems, radios, access control systems, key control procedures, and operational security equipment.
  • Maintain accurate incident reports, daily activity logs, operational updates, and shift communication records.
  • Ensure compliance with hotel operational procedures, OSHA regulations, fire safety standards, and company security policies.
  • Support VIP arrivals, conferences, weddings, large-scale events, and special operational activities as required.
  • Help foster a safe, welcoming, collaborative, and guest-focused culture aligned with Sonesta’s People People philosophy.
  • Any other duties as assigned.

What great looks like

  • Previous security, hospitality operations, hotel, law enforcement, military, emergency response, or guest service experience preferred.
  • Previous leadership or supervisory experience within security or hospitality operations preferred.
  • Strong communication, organizational, leadership, and conflict resolution skills.
  • Ability to remain calm and make sound decisions during emergency or high-pressure situations.
  • Knowledge of security procedures, emergency response protocols, surveillance systems, and operational safety standards preferred.
  • Ability to multitask and thrive in a fast-paced hospitality environment.
  • Strong operational mindset with the ability to balance safety, guest service, and hospitality standards effectively.
  • Experience using surveillance systems, incident reporting platforms, access control systems, radios, or operational reporting tools preferred.
  • CPR, First Aid, AED, security certifications, or law enforcement training preferred where applicable.
  • Flexible availability including evenings, weekends, holidays, overnight support, and operational coverage as needed.
  • A passion for hospitality, teamwork, operational excellence, guest engagement, and creating safe and welcoming guest experiences.
