Diesel Mechanic - 2nd Shift

Groot is looking for a safety conscious** 2nd Shift - Diesel Mechanic to join the team at our hauling location in Elgin, IL.  This shift starts at 2pm.**

Our Diesel Mechanic will perform repairs and preventative maintenance services and repairs on our trucks and equipment.

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Performs repairs (including electrical and hydraulic systems) and assigned preventive maintenance services.
• Utilizes vehicle computer electronics systems to interpret failure modes to initiate or assign repairs.
• Conducts safety checks on vehicles and equipment.
• Completes required paperwork utilizing fleet maintenance software program associated with repairing vehicles, documenting parts usage, and accounting for repair times.
• Reviews and completes repairs identified on Driver Vehicle Inspection Reports.
• Maintains a clean, safe work area in compliance with corporate and OSHA standards.
• Will be working on the industrial machinery as needed
• Other duties as assigned

Pay-

$46/hr. based on experience. Overtime is available after 40 hours at time and a half.

Requirements:

• Possess own tools
• Previous diesel mechanic experience required
• Ability to lift 50lbs repeatedly throughout the day.
• Ability to work outside in all weather conditions.
