Responsibilities

As a Laborer/Groundman, you will support aerial and underground telecom construction projects nationwide. You believe in doing the job right. Being the best. And you’re up for the challenge.

In addition, you will:

• Perform general construction labor, including digging and closing trenches, placing conduit, unloading materials, and preparing and maintaining job sites

• Assist with fiber-blowing operations and installation of fiber optic cable in conduits

• Move materials, operate vehicles and equipment as trained and certified, and tow trailers as needed

• Perform aerial and underground RF and fiber installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, repairs, and service relocations as directed

• Learn to read construction maps and design schematics and identify required project materials and equipment.

• Operate and obtain certifications for applicable equipment, including line trucks, bucket trucks, cable reels, saws, and drills

• Climb utility poles safely using appropriate climbing equipment, as trained

• Maintain vehicles, equipment, and work areas, including cleaning and landscaping

• Follow all safety procedures, use required PPE, and comply with applicable NESC guidelines

Qualifications

About You:

• Safety is a part of your day-to-day, with a track record of completing high-quality work
• You have a knack for figuring out hard problems and enjoy a hands-on approach to your work
• You are looking for long-term projects
• You enjoy getting your hands dirty with your team
• You can lift and carry up to 70 lbs
• You are willing and able to work in all types of weather
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume work environment
• Willing and able to get a DOT Med Card if needed
• Valid driver’s license with a clean record for the past 3 years (CDL preferred)
• Open to travel nationwide 7 days a week, per diem, 4-5 weeks on, and 5 days off on a rotating schedule (50+ hours per week, depending on the weather), and working overtime consistently

Compensation of $18-$22.50 per hour, based on the experience and licenses.
