Hours: 12:00pm - 8:30pm

Schedule: Monday through Friday

Performs a variety of duties in the repair, servicing and general maintenance of the hospital plant and equipment.

Responsibilities

1. Conducts job duties according to and maintain established departmental policies and procedures, objectives, quality improvement program, safety / sanitation standards, environmental and infection control standards

2. Performs plumbing, electrical repair, steam fitting and general maintenance on such items as, operating tables, sterilizers, beds, dishwashing machines, stoves, high pressure steam systems, boilers, hot water tanks and air conditioning.

3. Services equipment by lubricating, cleaning, replacing parts and making minor adjustments.

4. Makes repairs on toilets, water and steam lines, clogged drains, and sprinkler systems.

5. Performs building maintenance requiring basic carpentry, painting, plastering and other related duties.

6. Assists in the repair of complex equipment.

7. Assists with the care and maintenance of department equipment and supplies.

8. Attends all related departmental meetings.

9. Performs other related duties as assigned or requested.

Qualifications

Physical Demands:

· Considerable reaching, stooping, bending, kneeling, and crouching

· Frequent prolonged standing/walking

· Heavy physical effort (lift/carry up to 50 lbs.)

· Manual dexterity and mobility

· Pushes/pulls or moves/lifts heavy equipment/supplies

· Manual dexterity and mobility

Required Skills:

Automotive Repair

Hand and power tools, and diagnostic equipment

Preferred Skills

Welding

Pipe Fitting

Electric Motor Repair

HVAC

Steam Boiler Experience

HCAI Experience

Working Conditions:

· Exposed to hazards from electrical/mechanical/power equipment/and weather conditions.

Minimum Education:

· High School or equivalent

Certification:

· Maintains current, appropriate DMV licensure, Class C California Driver’s license or Class B (if necessary) certification required for employment. May be required to have a CDL with a passenger transport vehicle (PV) endorsement
