L3Harris is seeking an experienced Technical Writer to create and maintain training and operational documentation for satellite communications products. This role supports customer deliverables by producing clear, accurate, and consistent manuals, classroom materials, briefings, and handbooks. The successful candidate will work closely with engineering, operations, and other cross-functional teams to translate complex technical information into user-focused documentation.

Essential Functions:

  • Develop technical manuals, work instructions, and process documentation using inputs from engineering and operations teams in a cross-functional environment.

  • Create, document, and maintain technical data related to training materials and operational manuals.

  • Interview users, subject matter experts, and technical staff to gather information and develop product documentation.

  • Produce documentation that is accurate, consistent, and aligned across multiple media formats.

  • Author and edit documentation using Microsoft Office tools and other approved documentation platforms.

  • Work under general supervision on large projects while independently managing multiple assignments.

  • Track project milestones and communicate status, risks, and progress to key stakeholders.

  • Explain and interpret processes and procedures to audiences both within and outside the immediate work area.

  • Build effective working relationships and gain cooperation from subject matter experts regarding processes, practices, and procedures.

  • Solve documentation and process-related problems using prior experience, research, and analysis.

  • Follow established style guides, participate in peer reviews, and incorporate feedback to ensure quality and accuracy.

  • Clearance: Top Secret/SCI

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 4 years of prior related experience; or

  • Graduate degree and a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience; or

  • In lieu of a degree, a minimum of 8 years of prior related experience.

Preferred Additional Skills:

  • Experience with Adobe programs

  • Experience with single source authoring.

  • Experience in Agile, iterative development, and/or SCRUM development.

  • Experience documenting software releases, interactive technical manuals, Quick Reference Guides, and Training Materials.

  • Knowledge of data management practices and configuration management documentation
