Main Purpose of Job

The main purpose of this position is to review, process, and determine the eligibility of applicants for health insurance coverage for low-income pregnant women of any age, children under 21 years of age, and adults under age 65, following guidelines and procedures established by the Office of Eligibility Services and Maryland Health Connection.\r\n

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education:� �Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of a high school equivalency certificate.\r\n\r\n\r\nExperience:�Six months of clerical experience applying policies in a medical care, health insurance or federal or State entitlement program.�\r\n\r\n\r\n-OR-\r\n\r\n\r\nSix months of general clerical or administrative experience in one more of the following: data entry and record keeping, intake and interviewing, responding to inquiries, explaining information, writing correspondence, maintaining policies, procedures, rules, and regulations, and completing general clerical tasks.\r\n\r\n\r\nNotes:�\r\n1. Candidates may substitute additional general clerical experience on a year-for-year basis for the required education.\r\n\r\n\r\n2. Candidates may substitute thirty credit hours from an accredited college or university for the required experience.\r\n\r\n\r\n
