About the job

Job Description A growing technology company develops connected devices and software that help facilities teams automate monitoring, compliance testing, and documentation. Its products support safer building operations and reduce manual work, with an established customer base in healthcare and other demanding environments.

As a Senior Product Manager — Sensors, you’ll own an environmental monitoring product suite spanning ambient conditions, ultra-low-temperature storage, and cryogenic freezers. You’ll manage the full product lifecycle across hardware and firmware requirements, release stages, customer pilots, deployments, and ongoing performance. Accuracy, calibration traceability, and defensible compliance documentation will be central to your product decisions.

This is a hands-on role where you’ll become the subject matter expert for your product suite, translate customer needs into engineering requirements, and build repeatable processes that support reliable delivery. You’ll own the roadmap and post-launch customer experience, with an opportunity to grow into broader product strategy, market expansion, and profit-and-loss ownership.

This is a full-time, onsite position based in New York City, reporting to the Director of Product.

Required Skills & Experience

  • 6+ years of product management experience focused on hardware, IoT, or connected devices
  • Prior experience at a Series A, B, or C hardware or IoT startup
  • Experience owning a product shipped at scale, supporting tens or hundreds of customers and thousands of devices
  • Experience owning a certification or regulatory workstream, including maintaining documentation and understanding applicable requirements
  • Technical fluency with firmware, device configurations, uplinks and downlinks, sensors, and battery behavior
  • Hands-on data skills, including the ability to analyze product performance, build dashboards, and use business intelligence tools
  • Comfort using Git and AI assistants in daily work while applying independent judgment
  • Strong customer discovery skills, including structured interviews, synthesis, and translating findings into roadmap priorities
  • Experience developing clear processes and standard operating procedures while remaining adaptable
  • Excellent written communication skills for product requirements, release documentation, and actionable meeting notes
  • Strong prioritization and project management skills, with the ability to defend decisions using evidence and strategy
  • High ownership, including responsibility for deployment, escalations, and customer outcomes
  • Ability to navigate ambiguity, learn quickly, and work hands-on across technical and operational challenges
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience

Desired Skills & Experience

  • Experience in regulated industries such as healthcare, life safety, cold chain, or pharmaceuticals
  • Familiarity with frameworks or standards such as NFPA, UL, TJC, or USP
  • Knowledge of temperature and humidity measurement, range-appropriate probe selection, ultra-low and cryogenic monitoring, thermal buffering, and calibration traceability
  • Exposure to LoRaWAN or other low-power wide-area network technologies
  • Experience with embedded systems or hardware manufacturing, including design for manufacturing, injection molding, or supply chain operations
  • Experience managing product managers or an interest in growing into product team management

What You Will Be Doing Daily Responsibilities

  • Own the environmental sensor suite’s roadmap, grounding priorities in customer needs, product performance, and revenue opportunities
  • Translate customer feedback into clear product requirements and stay involved throughout development to ensure delivered capabilities meet those needs
  • Manage hardware and firmware releases from alpha and beta through initial launch and mass production, with documented requirements, readiness criteria, and stakeholder sign-off
  • Own probe accuracy and calibration practices, including probe selection, correction methods, traceable calibration, recalibration schedules, and drift detection
  • Support accuracy claims with evidence that customer quality teams and auditors can evaluate
  • Build a systematic customer feedback program through needfinding interviews, regular touchpoints, and a customer advisory board
  • Run pilots and demonstrations using defined procedures, success criteria, validation evidence, and formal customer sign-off
  • Own post-launch deployment quality, installation experience, product health, fleet calibration management, compliance reporting, and issue triage
  • Develop deep expertise in probe types, operating ranges, payloads, firmware, configurations, certifications, calibration certificates, correction curves, materials, supply chain, and battery performance in low-temperature environments
  • Represent the needs of laboratory managers, pharmacy directors, quality teams, biorepository and blood bank supervisors, facilities teams, support teams, auditors, and calibration partners
  • Maintain visible roadmap priorities in Jira and clear product documentation in Confluence
  • Run structured product meetings and share decisions and notes through the product’s Slack channel
  • Balance agile software development with the staged delivery constraints of hardware

Product Strategy & Business Ownership

  • Grow into ownership of product unit economics, margins, and profit and loss
  • Assess total addressable markets, market penetration, and expansion opportunities using clear decision criteria
  • Explore broader cold chain applications and opportunities beyond healthcare
  • Develop product positioning and supporting materials that help the sales team communicate value

The Offer

  • Base salary of $140,000–$185,000 per year
  • Equity
  • Full-time, onsite work in New York City
  • End-to-end ownership of a connected hardware and software product suite
