Infrastructure Support EngineerThe Opportunity:

The Infrastructure Support Engineer will provide hands-on support across Linux, Unix, Windows, networking, virtualization, cloud, middleware, storage, monitoring, and security environments. This role ensures stability, performance, and security of enterprise systems through incident resolution, patching, automation, and continuous improvement. The engineer will collaborate with development, operations, and security teams to maintain highly available infrastructure and support mission-critical environments.

This role is responsible for administering and maintaining enterprise IT infrastructure across on-premises and cloud environments. Key duties include managing Linux, Unix, and Windows servers, user access, system security, patching, performance optimization, backup and disaster recovery, as well as troubleshooting networking technologies such as TCP, IP, DNS, DHCP, VPNs, firewalls, and VLANs. The role also supports virtualization and cloud platforms, container technologies, infrastructure automation, storage systems, databases, and middleware services. Responsibilities include monitoring system health using logging and observability tools, performing root-cause analysis, and ensuring security, compliance, and identity management best practices are followed. Additionally, the role requires developing automation through scripting, supporting CI/CD and DevOps processes, and maintaining technical documentation, runbooks, and architectural diagrams to improve operational efficiency and reliability.

You Have:

• Experience administering Linux or Unix and Windows Server environments
• Experience with virtualization, cloud platforms, and container technologies
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code, DevOps tools, and scripting and automation using Bash, Python, or PowerShell
• Experience with enterprise monitoring, logging, backup, and disaster recovery solutions
• Knowledge of Active Directory, networking, and enterprise infrastructure operations
• Knowledge of security, vulnerability management, and compliance best practices
• Ability to troubleshoot complex systems, maintain technical documentation, and explain technical concepts clearly
• Ability to manage priorities and handle on-call responsibilities
• Public Trust
• Bachelor's degree in a computer science or engineering field

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $77,600.00 to $176,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen’s total compensation package for employees.
