About the job
Come join the Intuit Development Platform team as a Senior Staff Product Manager. The Intuit Development Platform team builds foundational capabilities that developers across Intuit use to build and run Intuit's flagship applications on cloud-native technologies in a highly scalable, reliable, and secure manner. Intuit is a strong believer in open source, as both a consumer and a contributor, and actively participates in many open-source communities, including CNCF, Istio, and GraphQL.
We are on a journey to enable hyper-scale in both our systems and our development processes, and we are making fundamental technological shifts to get there. As a product manager in this group, you will solve business-critical problems with leading-edge products, take part in the open-source community, and lead innovation within and outside of Intuit.
As a Senior Staff Product Manager, you will set the vision and strategy for Intuit's AI-driven API management platform. The platform uses AI and intelligent automation to change how APIs are designed, governed, secured, discovered, and consumed across Intuit. You will help make Intuit's APIs ready for a world where both human developers and AI agents are primary consumers. This is a cross functional role where you will lead through influence, partnering with engineering, security, and business leaders across the company.
Responsibilities
- Define and drive the multi-year product vision, strategy, and roadmap for the AI-driven API management platform, including API catalog and discovery, governance, security, and compliance.
- Apply AI across the API lifecycle, including AI-assisted API design and specification generation and intelligent policy and security recommendations.
- Enable agent-ready APIs by driving Intuit's approach to exposing APIs to AI agents through emerging standards such as Model Context Protocol (MCP), and define the governance and controls for LLM and agent access to APIs.
- Create a self-service catalog and discovery experience that makes it easy for developers and AI agents to find, understand, and safely use Intuit APIs.
- Guide API governance, standards, and best practices, and drive requirements for API security, compliance, and validation in partnership with Cybersecurity, Privacy, and Legal teams.
- Work closely with product managers, engineering leaders, and development teams across Intuit to identify gaps, align on strategy, and drive adoption of platform standards across business units.
- Manage dependencies, priorities, and plans across multiple groups at Intuit to deliver consistently toward common goals.
- Own the product lifecycle from requirements gathering through production, and build the business case and investment priorities for the platform.
- Represent Intuit in open-source and industry communities (such as CNCF, Istio, GraphQL, and OpenAPI) and influence senior leaders on technical direction.
- Demonstrate customer obsession by championing the developer experience with deep customer empathy.
Qualifications
- 8+ years designing and delivering world-class platform products that solve big customer needs, specifically in large-scale distributed systems and platforms. Experience with API management, API catalogs, gateways, service mesh, or developer platforms is strongly preferred.
- Deep understanding of API design and lifecycle management (REST, GraphQL, gRPC, OpenAPI), API security and governance, and the SDLC, with an appreciation for the 'developer' persona.
- Experience building or applying AI/ML or GenAI capabilities in products, with a strong understanding of LLMs and agentic workflows and how they change the way software is built and consumed.
- Good understanding of defining and building SaaS services, products, and infrastructure at scale.
- Experience working in an Agile development setting and driving backlog grooming and prioritization.
- Product development and technical background, either as an engineer or in a previous technical role with hands-on development experience, or in developing and presenting technical demos.
- Ability to take end-to-end responsibility for the product's success, with a track record of setting strategy and influencing without direct authority at the senior leadership level.
- Ability to work closely with customers and partners, taking a customer-focused approach to defining strategy and setting priorities, with a passion for the customer.
- Excellent collaboration and communication skills, leading execution across teams and influencing across organizations in both small-team and large-group presentation formats, from engineers to Cybersecurity to senior business leaders.
- Undergraduate degree in computer science, electrical engineering, or a related technical discipline required. Equivalent work experience will be considered. Advanced degree or MBA preferred.
