About the job

Build your portfolio strategy career while shaping how Small Business card customers earn rewards, manage credit, and grow their businesses. You’ll turn insights into actions that improve customer outcomes and strengthen portfolio performance.

As a Vice President, Small Business Card Portfolio Strategy in the Small Business Card team, you lead cross-portfolio strategy for spend, lending, and rewards—using rigorous analytics to prioritize initiatives, improve economics, and balance growth with prudent risk management. You partner across product, analytics, risk, finance, and delivery to set direction, align stakeholders, and drive measurable results across a multi-quarter roadmap.

Job responsibilities

  • Lead cross-portfolio spend and lending strategy supported by analytics, including opportunity sizing, prioritization, sequencing, and impact forecasting

  • Translate portfolio performance and unit economics into clear strategic recommendations and decisions

  • Analyze customer segments and behaviors (spend, revolving, utilization, and rewards redemption) to identify growth opportunities and emerging risks

  • Partner with risk and lending stakeholders to align growth plans with risk appetite, performance targets, and portfolio resilience

  • Optimize rewards value and redemption economics to improve engagement and sustainable returns

  • Define test-and-learn roadmaps, measurement plans, and success metrics; interpret results and scale what works

  • Create clear, executive-ready narratives that connect insights to tradeoffs, decisions, and actions

  • Drive cross-functional alignment and execution against roadmap commitments, dependencies, and timelines

  • Monitor key portfolio indicators and proactively recommend course corrections to improve outcomes

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • 6 years of experience in analytics, risk, finance, strategy, or portfolio management

  • Ability to interpret and communicate portfolio performance indicators (for example: losses, delinquency, approval quality, utilization, line management, revolving behavior, and profitability drivers)

  • Strong analytical problem-solving skills, including hypothesis-driven thinking, root-cause analysis, and opportunity sizing

  • Demonstrated experience taking initiatives from concept through delivery, including defining success metrics and managing dependencies

  • Strong stakeholder management and influence skills in a matrixed environment

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including executive-level storytelling and crisp synthesis

  • Proven ability to prioritize across multiple concurrent initiatives and deliver results with accountability

  • Bachelor’s degree

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Experience in credit cards, unsecured lending, or payments

  • Experience with rewards strategy, rewards economics, or loyalty program optimization

  • Experience partnering closely with risk management teams to balance growth and credit performance
