Maintenance Mechanic Hackettstown, NJ | Direct Hire | Full-Time | On-Site Superior Skilled Trades is hiring for a direct opportunity with a client in Hackettstown, NJ. We are seeking a hands-on Maintenance Mechanic to maintain, troubleshoot, and repair industrial food manufacturing equipment while supporting safe, efficient, and reliable plant operations. Pay: $23 - $37 Schedule: Monday – Friday 3pm – 1am
Responsibilities
- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on fryers, packaging equipment, conveyors, and other production machinery.
- Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and basic electrical systems.
- Maintain loading dock equipment, forklifts, pallet jacks, motors, bearings, belts, gearboxes, and lubrication systems.
- Complete and document preventive maintenance activities and respond quickly to equipment breakdowns.
- Identify potential equipment issues and take proactive steps to prevent production downtime.
- Work closely with Production, QA, and approved outside vendors.
- Assist with equipment selection, installation, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Follow all safety, GMP, SQF, and USDA requirements.
- Perform other maintenance duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- 2+ years of industrial maintenance experience, preferably in food, beverage, or CPG manufacturing.
- Hands-on experience troubleshooting and repairing industrial processing and packaging equipment.
- Working knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
- Basic electrical troubleshooting skills are a plus.
- Ability to read equipment manuals, wiring diagrams, and schematics.
- Proficiency with hand and power tools.
- Basic welding/fabrication experience is a plus.
- Forklift certification is a plus, or willingness to obtain one.
- Strong communication, organization, troubleshooting, and documentation skills.
- Reliable, safety-conscious, and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
