Junior Industrial Mechanic Hackettstown, NJ | Direct Hire Superior Skilled Trades is hiring for a direct opportunity with a client in Hackettstown, NJ. Pay: $22 - $27/hr Schedule: Monday – Friday 8am -4:30pm Position Summary We are seeking a Junior Industrial Mechanic to join a manufacturing maintenance team. This is an excellent entry-to-early-career opportunity for someone looking to build a career as a Millwright, Industrial Mechanic, or Maintenance Technician. You’ll work alongside experienced mechanics while developing your skills in equipment repair, preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and installations. Key Responsibilities

• Assist with maintenance and repair of industrial production equipment, including fryers, ovens, packaging equipment, conveyors, compressors, and control systems.
• Perform routine inspections, lubrication, troubleshooting, and preventive maintenance.
• Assist with emergency repairs and equipment installations under the direction of experienced mechanics.
• Help with equipment setup, breakdowns, cleaning, changeovers, and repairs.
• Maintain organized tools, parts, and work areas.
• Work closely with Production and Quality teams to minimize downtime.
• Follow all safety, GMP, SQF, and food safety requirements.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

• 1–3 years of mechanical, electrical, or industrial maintenance experience, or completion of a trade/vocational program.
• Basic knowledge of hand and power tools.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn.
• Ability to read and follow equipment manuals and instructions.
• Strong attention to detail and safety mindset.
• Basic computer skills, including email, Word, and Excel.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• Vocational/trade school graduate preferred.
• Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus.
• Must be authorized to work in the U.S. and able to commute to Hackettstown, NJ.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
• Ability to lift, push, pull, and carry materials.
• Ability to work on stairs and ladders.
• Comfortable working in hot, humid, wet, and industrial environments.
• Ability to wear required PPE.
