About the job

Apple is a place where extraordinary people gather to do their best work. Together we create products and experiences people once couldn’t have imagined — and now can’t imagine living without.

The Finance Transformation team is shaping the future of Finance by modernizing our systems, implementing innovative AI solutions, and up-skilling the workforce. We are looking for a Program Manager to anchor our PMO and Planning programs and support a broader portfolio of strategic initiatives across Finance Transformation.

This is an individual contributor (IC) role. You will bring structure to a complex portfolio, surface risks early, and give executives a clear view of progress and the decisions needed. You will work across Finance Transformation, partnering with program leads, engineering, and business teams to keep work aligned to priorities. The role calls for a proactive self-starter who communicates clearly and thrives in ambiguity.

Responsibilities

  • Support PMO and Planning programs across the full software planning and prioritization cycle, including intake, prioritization, funding, and tracking against plan.
  • Partner with program leads to keep scope, timelines, and dependencies on track.
  • Identify, assess, and escalate risks and issues, and drive mitigation to closure.
  • Build executive-level presentations and status reports that are concise, accurate, and decision-oriented.
  • Analyze program and portfolio data in Excel and enterprise planning tools to find trends, gaps, and discrepancies, and turn them into clear recommendations.
  • Support cross-functional programs, including stakeholder communications, readiness tracking, and adoption.
  • Lead or support special projects as priorities emerge, from scoping through delivery.
  • Establish and improve program processes, templates, and operating cadences, applying the right methodology (e.g., Agile, Waterfall, hybrid) to each program.

Minimum Qualifications

  • 5+ years of program or project management experience, including experience in a software planning and prioritization cycle.
  • Hands-on experience with project and portfolio management systems, such as Wrike and Clarity.
  • Comfortable working in Excel (e.g., formulas, pivot tables, lookups) for analysis and reporting.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Familiarity with multiple project management methodologies, such as Agile.
  • Demonstrated experience building executive-level presentations and status reporting.
  • Strong written and verbal communicator who can influence without formal authority and engage stakeholders at all levels.
  • Self-starter who takes initiative and works independently in ambiguous environments.
  • Proven ability to identify, quantify, and manage program risk.
  • Skilled at creating executive-level presentations.
  • Strong data analysis skills, with advanced proficiency in Excel and data visualization, and comfort working across systems such as Wrike and Clarity.
  • Working knowledge of the software planning and prioritization cycle.
  • Working knowledge of project management methodologies, such as Agile, Waterfall, and hybrid approaches, and the judgment to apply the right one to the work.
  • Experience managing multiple programs at once.
  • PMP or equivalent program management certification is a plus.
