We are looking for a dynamic Continuous Improvement / Mars Supply Excellence (MSE) Manager (part of our Site Leadership Team) to act as the strategic heartbeat of our factory. In this role, you won't just manage processes—you will inspire people, champion a culture of excellence, and lead a world-class manufacturing transformation.

The Supply Excellence Manager is a critical member of the site leadership team and is accountable for the overall implementation and success of the Mars Supply Excellence Work System (MSEWS) at the Hackettstown Factory.

What are we looking for?

Minimum:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, Business Operations, or a related technical/business field AND/OR
  • 5+ years of experience in a manufacturing or production environment.
  • Proven track record of leading continuous improvement (CI) initiatives, Lean transformations, or TPM (Total Productive Maintenance) implementations within a factory setting.
  • Demonstrated experience in coaching, mentoring, and teaching Lean or TPM concepts to associates at all levels (from shop-floor operators to senior site leaders).
  • Experience influencing and collaborating with cross-functional peers and department leaders without direct authority.
  • Practical, hands-on experience implementing a Lean Toolkit (including Value Stream Mapping, Pull Systems/Kanban, SMED, 5S, Kaizen facilitation, and Structured Problem Solving).
  • Familiarity with Daily Management Systems (such as FMOS - Factory Mars Operating System or equivalent tiered meeting structures).

Preferred:

  • Lean Six Sigma Black Belt or Master Black Belt certification from a recognized institution.
  • Advanced degree (e.g., MBA or Master’s in Engineering/Operations Management).
  • 8+ years of experience in food, beverage, consumer packaged goods (CPG), or highly regulated manufacturing environments.
  • Direct experience with MSE (Mars Supply Excellence) or an identical TPM-based operating system (such as JIPM-style TPM).
  • Experience serving as an active member of a Site/Plant Leadership Team, actively contributing to overall site strategy beyond the CI space.
  • Proven experience leading large-scale organizational change management and cultural shifts toward a continuous improvement mindset.
  • Experience aligning local site CI strategies with regional or global training and operations standards.
  • Expertise in Strategy Deployment (Hoshin Kanri) to translate high-level business goals into actionable shop-floor targets.

What will be your key responsibilities?

  • Sit at the round table as an active member of our Site Leadership Team, helping co-author and execute the long-term roadmap for our entire factory.
  • Be the chief architect of our site-wide transformation, driving our industry-leading Mars Supply Excellence (MSE/TPM) operating system to new heights of maturity.
  • Take the lead on developing future leaders site-wide. You will passionately teach, coach, and mentor associates at every level—from the shop floor to the front office—in lean thinking and continuous improvement.
  • Standardize excellence. You will foster readiness and maturity across our core pillars, embedding Daily Management Systems (FMOS), standardized work, and structured problem-solving into our daily DNA.
  • Roll up your sleeves to facilitate high-energy Kaizen events and champion the practical rollout of Value Stream Mapping, Pull Systems, Kanban, SMED, and Heijunka.
  • Partner hand-in-hand with Technical and Reliability leaders to seamlessly weave TPM activities into the fabric of our daily operations.
  • Directly lead and inspire our site Training Team. ****You will collaborate with the Regional Training Manager to champion world-class training standards, ensuring our teams are empowered, skilled, and consistently executing at the highest level.

What can you expect from Mars?

  • Join a purpose driven company, where we’re striving to build the world we want tomorrow, today.
  • A strong focus on learning and development support from day one, including access to our in-house Mars University.
