Grader/Class Assistant for Engineering Courses (Civil, Mechanical or Electrical)

Graders will be expected to grade homework assignments and record scores in Canvas.Grade and assist the professor as needed, this may include: grading papers, classroom assistance, lab prep and/or lab demonstrations. May also be required to host group study sessions.The TA may assist with course-related field trips as a driver and/or co-leader, course-related planning and logistics, grading, and maintaining program equipment. Along with other duties as assigned.

Responsibilities:

• Grade assignments, papers, and exams according to professor-provided rubrics.

• Enter grades and attendance into the designated system (e.g., Canvas, Excel).

• Provide timely feedback on student work.

• Maintain accurate and organized grade records.

• Communicate with the professor about student progress and grading concerns.

Qualifications:

• For a specific course and/or lab, the applicant must have earned a grade of “C” or better in the course (or equivalent transferred courses).

• Previous experience as a grader is preferred, but not required.

• Applicants may apply to grade for more than one course.

• Applicants should indicate on their applications the Program (Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering) and courses for which they are qualified (CE, EE, ENGR, ME).
