The University of Utah is located in Salt Lake City, the capital of Utah which is the fastest-growing tech state in the U.S. and home to the “Silicon Slopes” agglomeration of technology companies, including significant operations for Adobe, eBay, Intel, Micron, and DOMO. The University is within a day’s drive of five national parks. Nine ski and snowboard resorts are nestled in the mountains above Salt Lake City, which hosted the Winter Olympic Games in 2002 and has been selected to host the Olympic Games again in 2034. The American Economic Development Institute named Utah the number one pro-business state in the country, the first state west of the Mississippi River to earn this recognition, and noted the state’s leadership in economic development, innovation, and entrepreneurship.

The University of Utah is a member of the Association of American Universities, a prestigious, invitation-only group of 71 leading research institutions marked by excellence in academic expertise and research impact, student success, and the ability to secure resources in support of their core missions. The University is on the rise, as measured by nearly every key indicator, from graduation rates to research funding, to support from private and public partners. The Eccles School of Business has made similar significant gains. As the University aspires to become a top-10 public university, senior faculty in the Eccles School will play a key role in shaping the future contributions of the Business School in support of this mission.

Review will begin October 15, 2026 and will continue until the position is filled.
