Maryland Public Television, commonly known as MPT, is a public television network that broadcasts throughout the entire state of Maryland and the District of Columbia and into parts of Delaware, Pennsylvania, Virginia, and West Virginia. MPT is Maryland's only statewide broadcaster. Headquartered in Owings Mills, MPT is a member of the Public Broadcasting Service (PBS) and is a producer of both locally and nationally distributed TV programs and digital content.\r\n�\r\n\r\n

Main Purpose of Job

This Managing Director will\r\ndevise and execute an annual fundraising plan to personally generate $2,000,000\r\nor more in membership revenues. It will secure transformational philanthropic\r\ngifts and investments that advance MPT’s highest strategic priorities. This position will devise and execute an annual fundraising plan\r\nto personally generate $2,000,000 or more in membership revenues. It will\r\nsecure transformational philanthropic gifts and investments that advance MPT’s\r\nhighest strategic priorities. This senior management position manages a focused\r\nportfolio of donors and prospects capable of making gifts or commitments of\r\n$100,000 or more. The candidate will create customized cultivation,\r\nsolicitation, and stewardship strategies while partnering closely with the President\r\nand CEO, Vice President of Development, senior leaders, and key\r\nvolunteers. Additionally, this position will track campaign results to\r\nreach annual goals and review campaign analytics in conjunction with the\r\nManaging Director of Major & Planned Giving to create or adjust annual\r\nfundraising plans.\r\n�\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

POSITION DUTIES

\r\n● Manage a strategically qualified portfolio of approximately 50 donors and prospects; identify, cultivate, solicit, close and steward six-figure+ commitments.�\r\n● Develop donor-centered funding opportunities, proposals, presentations, gift agreements, and individualized stewardship plans in collaboration with program and production partners.�\r\n● Serve as philanthropy strategist and liaison for the President and CEO, guiding targeted outreach, cultivation, and solicitation to develop close relationships with key stakeholders�\r\n● Serve as a staff liaison to MPT Foundation board committees and assist in recruitment of new board members.�\r\n● Partner with the Managing Director in leading the Major & Planned Giving team. Developing methods to strengthen the principal-gift pipeline, coordinate prospect assignments and transitions, and maintain timely, accurate donor records.�\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

\r\nEducation: Bachelor’s Degree�\r\nExperience: Minimum Eight (8) years of experience in non-profit development, including direct fundraising experience and a proven track record of soliciting and closing major gifts of at least five-figures; with at least 3 years of supervisory experience leading a team in development.�\r\nNote: experience can be substituted for education on a year by year basis \r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

\r\nStrong preference will be given to applicants that possess the following preferred qualification(s). Include clear and specific information on your application regarding the qualifications.�\r\n● Exceptional communication, presentation, project management and interpersonal skills; sound judgement and discretion.�\r\n● Campaign planning, readiness assessment, feasibility, or execution experience. \r\n● Experience in public media, higher education, arts and culture, journalism, or another mission-driven non profit.�\r\n● Familiarity with blended gifts, including endowment and planned gifts.�\r\n● Experience with donor CRM and prospect-management systems. \r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

Employees in this classification may be assigned duties which require the operation of a motor vehicle. Employees assigned such duties will be required to possess a motor vehicle operator's license valid in the State of Maryland.\r\n
