STEWARD - Overnight Deep Cleaner

About the job

This position performs deep cleaning of kitchen equipment, floors, walls, vents, and work areas to ensure compliance with health, safety, and company standards while preparing the restaurant for daily operations.

Responsibilities

• Perform nightly deep cleaning of kitchens, restaurants, bars, and BOH areas.
• Disassemble, clean and sanitize cooking equipment, grills, fryers, ovens, steamers, and preparation areas.
• Inspect equipment and report maintenance concerns to management.
• Maintain cleaning tools, equipment, and supplies.
• Pressure wash and scrub kitchen floors, drains, and floor mats.
• Clean walls, ceilings, vents, exhaust hoods, and light fixtures as scheduled.
• Polish stainless steel surfaces and maintain appearance standards throughout the facility.
• Empty trash receptacles and transport waste to designated disposal areas.
• Clean refrigerators, freezers, storage rooms, and shelving units.
• Ensure all sanitation chemicals are used safely and according to manufacturer guidelines.
• Use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE)

Qualifications

• Minimum 6 months of kitchen or food service experience
• Basic English communication skills
• Ability to work overnight shifts, including weekends and holidays as business needs require.
• Ability to work independently.
• Professional appearance and grooming

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS

• Ability to lift up to 60 pounds and perform physically demanding tasks (pushing, pulling, bending, reaching)
• Must be able to work in hot, high-temperature environments (up to 115°F near dish machines)
• Ability to use cleaning chemicals safely (e.g., bleach, oven cleaner)
• Capable of operating dishwashing equipment
• Must respond effectively to visual and auditory cues
