About the job

How you'll help us Keep Climbing (overview & key responsibilities)

The purpose of this job is to establish IFEC system operational excellence at Delta that will interact with the IFEC service provider(s) and 3rd party applications to resolve operational gaps created by the new innovations in passenger experience developed by Delta.

  • Manage the system integration process between IFE and Connectivity service providers as well as the integration process of 3rd party applications by interacting directly with tools and by managing any directing human resources provided by the service provider.
  • Develop and monitor various tools and KPIs that measure the integration performance between IFE, Connectivity, and 3rd party service providers.
  • Initiate root cause and corrective action measures when system integration performance exceeds established thresholds.
  • Technical point of contact to collaborate and direct the respective service providers or 3rd party applications on the progress of known integration issues.
  • Collaborate with Delta cabin maintenance on system integration performance issues and provide recommendations for recovery.
  • This person would communicate a technical analysis that characterizes the system integration behavior and a proposed issue resolution and may also provide oversite and direction of 3rd party resources. This communication would be delivered to internal stakeholders for IFE, Connectivity or any 3rd party service providers.
  • Success is defined by the ability of the IFE and Connectivity hardware and software on the aircraft to reliably deliver a world class integrated IFEC experience to the passengers. The problems that will be encountered involve recognizing whether a system integration failure is associated with the aircraft IFEC hardware, software, global or local network issue, or a ground system software or service failure and then leading a collaborative effort to define and direct a recovery initiative.
  • The process to perform this type of analysis is not well defined but is based on strong engineering and analytical skills.
  • Each investigation will likely require new discoveries that warrant new processes, system, and product improvements.
