Elicit, analyze, and document functional and non-functional requirements across payments initiatives, including cross-border payments, real-time processing, and clearing systems.

Create and maintain analysis artifacts: current‑ and future‑state process flows, user journeys, decision tables, data mappings, and traceability.
-
Support backlog readiness and refinement with the Product Owner; clarify scope, acceptance criteria, edge cases, and downstream impacts for delivery teams.
-
Conduct impact analysis across adjacent workflows, systems, and controls; surface risks, dependencies, and operational constraints early.
-
Partner with testing to validate requirements and acceptance criteria; support UAT and defect triage from a business‑process perspective.
-
Maintain regulatory and audit traceability from requirements through release, ensuring required evidence and documentation are complete.
-
Contribute to launch and BAU handover by preparing process updates, standard operating procedures/work‑instructions, RACI updates, and training materials in partnership with Product and Operations.
-
Surface when analysis complexity, regulatory risk, or cross‑pod dependencies exceed pod scope and require Senior BA support.
Payments Domain Expertise
- Provide subject matter expertise in payments processing, including SWIFT, ISO 20022 (pain/pacs/camt messages), Major Financial Market Infrastructures (FMI), Instant Payments and payment lifecycle flows.
- Ensure accurate interpretation and validation of payment message fields and business rules.
- Support initiatives related to payment modernization, regulatory compliance, and operational risk reduction.
Stakeholder Management & Collaboration
- Act as a liaison across Product, Technology, Operations, and Client Services to ensure alignment on requirements and delivery priorities.
- Facilitate workshops, backlog grooming sessions, and requirement walkthroughs with stakeholders.
- Coordinate across multiple teams to define scope, constraints, and dependencies for strategic initiatives.
Delivery & Execution Support
-
Work within Agile/Scrum frameworks to support sprint planning, backlog refinement, and UAT cycles.
-
Define acceptance criteria and support functional testing to ensure high-quality delivery.
-
Clear written communication; crisp artifacts and acceptance criteria; strong meeting facilitation and note‑taking.
-
Time‑management and backlog‑readiness discipline; can manage multiple work items and stakeholders within a sprint cadence.
-
Track deliverables and ensure timely execution across large-scale, mission-critical programs.
-
Proficiency with process modeling and analysis techniques and business/data rules capture.
-
Ability to work with data analysis tools (SQL, Excel, etc.)
-
Familiarity with APIs, integration patterns, and payment processing systems
Data Analysis & Validation
- Perform data analysis, reconciliation, and validation for payment flows and transactions.
- Support troubleshooting of production issues and root cause analysis for payment failures or exceptions.
- Ensure data quality, integrity, and compliance with regulatory standards.
Risk, Compliance & Controls
- Ensure adherence to regulatory and compliance standards (e.g., SWIFT, ISO, sanctions, AML).
- Identify and mitigate operational risks in payment processes and system design.
- Contribute to strengthening controls and improving straight-through processing (STP) rates.
To be successful in this role, we're seeking the following:
-
Experience in large-scale payment transformation programs or platform modernization initiatives
-
Exposure to regulatory initiatives (e.g., ISO migrations, market infrastructure changes)
-
Background in banking, financial services, or transaction banking.
-
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, or related field. - Advanced degree preferred.
